A small upright deciduous tree from Japan. The canopy is more narrow than with most Japanese Maples. Leaves are rich green above and lighter green beneath. Fall color is brilliant orange-red. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. 10' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -30 degrees. USDA zone 4.
