A dense, deciduous, upright shrub with crimson tones on narrow-lobed green leaves and bright green bark in spring. Fall color in various shades of vivid yellow. Name means "harp strings" in Japanese. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. 6' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
