A compact, upright deciduous form. Spring and summer leaf color is deep, rich green and has a heavy texture. Fall color is an outstanding vibrant pumpkin-orange, a true presence in the autumn garden. Name means "precious jewel" in Japanese. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil. 8' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. Hardy to -20 degrees. USDA zone 5.
