Taxodium distichum 'Fallingwater' is an broad, upright weeping selection of bald cypress with species-typical foliage and color. Young plants may need staking when young in order to gain initial size. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 to 8 feet (2 - 2.5 m) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of 8 to 12 inches (20 - 30 cm).
This cultivar originated as a plant found in Europe and named by Don Shadow of Winchester, Tennessee.

The original, apparently unnamed plant originated in Italy, and introduced to the nursery trade from The Netherlands.
