Abies concolor 'Blue Cloak' is an upright, semi-pendulous selection of white fir with a strong central leader, dense cloaked branching; and thin, soft-blue needles. This plant performs best growing in full sun and well-drained soil. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will be 7 feet (2 m) tall and 4 feet (1.3 m) wide, a rate of growth of around 8 inches (20 cm) per year.
Origin:
The origin of this cultivar is speculative. It is thought to have originated as a seedling selected in the late 1990s, by the University of Michigan for its unique form.
